For Your Own Good – Ep 37
This issue has been so long. I can't believe I started posting this in March of 2025... and it's finally finished.
I did so many things that I wasn't sure if I could pull off. All the scenes with Eremis' visions, the void... SOOOOooo many cityscapes and new locations that you only see for one or two panels after drawing the same rooftop for 30+ episodes. Difficult perspectives. Almost every scene with 3 or more people in it. I'll be real with y'all, I'm exhausted. I'm so proud of what I accomplished but ready for a bit of a break.
So what can you expect from here? The Fantasy Book Club will be taking a hiatus while I do my pre-production on Issue 8 and get a bit of desperately needed R&R. I hope to return to posting by January, but I am not committing to a hard date just yet. Please be sure to subscribe to my RSS feed or as a free patreon member so you don't miss out on updates on when TFBC will be returning.Â
In the Meantime...
If They Were Monsters, my yearly Halloween collab with Sari Spooks has begun and will be posting weekly during October. If you haven't read it yet, ITWM is a Victorian Gothic AU where the members of The Fantasy Book Club and Sari's characters are vampires and werewolves.Â
Also, I am now a member of the Spiderforest Webcomic collective. The following comics are also new members and if you enjoy TFBC, you will definitely enjoy these worlds unraveled! Gods and monsters leave only hints of their long-dormant powers, but in these tales, uncovering these long-hidden pasts may be the only way forward.
Makar - Ten years after their nation is conquered by a theocratic empire, the last survivors of the Makar dynasty struggle to find their new place in the world. After a failed rebellion, where do they belong? Maybe the past has the answers they seek.
Burn - The world of man is now a dense forest and its protector, the Vigil, disappeared almost 20 years ago. What started as a simple journey home for Conrad becomes a dangerous adventure to save themselves and possibly what's left of mankind.
Light within Shadow - Lysandra's quaint village is peaceful, protected from the nearby monster-infested woods by fighters who wield the power of the elements. But her quest to regain her lost memory pits her against old gods, and brings peril for everyone.

Hell yeah you should be proud! I LOVE the lighting in this part. The way the panelling creates a sense of movement. And the use of blur to create focus. And colours. And the painterly way you draw trees – the art is all round delicious. You have seriously leveled up, and your starting point was already good.
Hope you have a peaceful holiday season 🙂
This issue has been great, and I’ve loved the finale! The big spell this episode was reaaly cool and how everything was framed worked really well to me. Thank you and I hope you get lots of R&R pn your break
Oh… All caught up. TFBC has become one of my favorite comics, but it’s a shame I can’t just binge anymore… Oh well, being caught up can be nice too. Looking forward to the next issue! (I’m willing to wait as long as you need though, this is in no way meant to rush you. Genius takes time.)
So the jars only mark the tower, but her spell claimed all of Crossroads campus? Eremis was previously very explicit that the jars needed to be at each corner of the place being protected. There’s increased power this time around, but it feels like the spell’s rules aren’t being followed. Help me out please, this is so cool otherwise.
