History
The Fantasy Book Club is a story that has been waiting to be brought to life for literal decades. It started as a novel being written by a small town 16 year old, Nae, and has gone through many iterations over their lifetime. There is a short draw my life comic about how this came to be over in Bonus Content but it wasn’t until spring of 2020 that The Fantasy Book Club took it’s first steps to becoming what it is today. Spurred on by world events and a desperate desire to stop waiting, Nae launched their comic on Webtoon Canvas in October of that year.
TFBC updated weekly from 2020 to 2023 when Nae switched to a twice a month schedule with longer episodes and a couple months of hiatus between each comic issue. In that time Tapas, NamiComi, and Global Comix were added as mirror sites.
In 2025, Nae made the leap to being a fulltime artist (you can read a bonus comic about that too). Since then they launched a Kickstarter to redraw and print issue 1 which was a resounding success and made the change to self hosting their webcomic. With their first year doing this full time only half way over, there is still much to come!
